Surface Renew is proudly veteran owned and operated. Many of our technicians are also former military. So we’ve found a camaraderie amongst each other and appreciate the military style approach to structure, cleanliness, politeness protocol, keen attention to detail, and extreme pride in our work. Our methodology reflects well upon the finished product thus making customers very happy with our overall service.
Our services include bathtub, shower, tile, sink, and countertop refinishing. Refinishing is also known as resurfacing or reglazing. We also do repairs too! Tile and bathtub refinishing is a cost and time effective alternative to replacement. We resurface fixtures with a hard and durable surface. These new surfaces come in a variety of modern colors and textures of your choice. Repaired and refinished surfaces are ready to use that same day.
Is bathtub refinishing worth it?
In most cases yes, absolutely! For example, if you like the style of your tub and want it to look new again then refinishing is worth it. However, if you want a different style, such as going from a traditional tub to clawfoot or Jacuzzi tub, then replacement (depending on your budget) might be a better option for you. Refinishing a tub is similar to painting a car. It’s the same car under the hood but after refinishing it now has recent repairs and a new looking surface. So it’s going to still be the same shape and style you started with. But it will look like new; either in the original color or any other color you want.
Is it cheaper to resurface or replace a bathtub?
Resurfacing a tub is generally cheaper than replacing a tub. In fact, resurfacing your bathtub will save you about 70% over the cost of replacement. While a brand new bathtub may only cost a few hundred dollars (for a cheap one), there are other costs to replacement such as removal and disposal costs, plumbing alterations, and tile work. These costs quickly add up. And so you can easily end up spending nearly $1,000 to $2,000 more in labor and other expenses to replace your bathtub.
How much does it cost to coat a bathtub?
Our prices start as low as $395 for standard porcelain bathtub refinishing. Same starting price for fiberglass and cast iron. We also include a 3 year guarantee with all our services.
Does bathtub refinishing last?
Yes, it will last for many years with proper care and maintenance. The durability of a bathtub refinished by Surface Renew is very similar to that of most new tubs available now. As a general rule figure on 10 to 15 years in a residential setting with normal every day use. That’s for our professional service. In contrast we do not recommend amateur diy bathtub refinishing with bathtub refinishing paint. That type of finish will not last more than a year, and that’s if it’s done right.
